Akyna Nui, formerly known as Tegen Nui, is an island in the Matoran universe.
Description
The island possesses a number of Matoran villages, some of them located on two nearby islands which are officially part of Akyna Nui. Little else is known of this island.
History
When the island of Tegen Nui was protected by the Great Anti-Shadow Barrier, it was renamed Akyna Nui, or "great land without shadow."
Makuta Venetraze once broke through the barrier and attacked its Toa there with Shadow Leeches, making them into the Toa Kynika.
