Guidelines[]
Long ago on the mythical island of Okoto, all lived in harmony.
What does this line from the very first animation we got for the second generation of BIONICLE evoke inside you? Does it evoke a sense of nostalgia? Mystery? Joy? Sadness? Well, now’s your chance to put those feelings to writing, for we’re taking a dive into the abundant world of Okoto!
For the Okoto Writing Contest, we want you to write a story set within the second generation continuum. It can be set at any period in Okotan history. So if you want to write a story about the island before the Battle of the Mask Makers or if you even want to explore what life is like after the Toa depart, it’s up to you.
There's a lot of freedom within the second generation, and there's so much you can do to enrich such an undernourished world.

Write up your story, submit it in the entries section on the contest talk page, and that's it!

Rules[]
- Once a story is submitted it cannot be significantly altered, though minor syntax fixes are permitted.
- Entries must be submitted on the wiki for consideration. While we may advertise on other networks, there is no substitute for a good old wiki-coded story article.
- All entries must be originally written for the contest. Pre-existing stories unfortunately cannot be entered. Similarly, it should go without saying that there will be consequences for plagiarism. If you use a headcanon, be sure to acknowledge the creative input of the original theorist.
- A reasonable degree of canon-compliance is expected of all entrants. If a story deviates too far from established BIONICLE lore, then it may be subject to penalty in the form of disqualification.
- No direct crossovers between Generation 1 and Generation 2. Easter eggs are okay.
- Comics and videos are permitted.
- Keep the story consistent and have it make sense.
- Adhere to the site policy, for obvious reasons.
- Voting for your own entry is not permitted.

First Place[]
- A banner on your page saying that you won the contest.
- A purple Olmak icon.
- Your story will be the Featured Story of December 2018.
Second Place[]
- You will get a banner on your page saying that you won second place.
This is your chance to contribute to the incredibly undernourished second run of BIONICLE. You can enrich the already established canon with a meaningful addition the world of Okoto.
