The Death Eggs were the minions of the Omega Being Matata.

History[]

The Death Eggs were created by Matata after he made his home in the Matoran Universe, and were used to guard his island fortress. He also used them as test subjects in his experiments.

Matata later discontinued the production of new Death Eggs. Following the Mata Nui robot's deactivation, their status is unknown.

Abilities and traits[]

Death Eggs were in full control of the powers of air, fire, and jungle. They also possessed stingers that could inject a potent venom into their victims.

Stages[]

Death Eggs went through four stages as they matured, with the exception of a few who were created as Stage Fours.

Picture Stage Description
Death egg One The first stage of Death Egg evolution. These Death Eggs have only one head, and possess a pair of wings. As Matata ceased his process of Death Egg creation, it is unlikely that any of this form currently exist.
Death egg level 2 Two The second stage of Death Egg evolution. Stage Ones usually transform into Stage Twos by approximately one month of their creation. They still possess the single head and pair of wings as Stage Ones. As Matata ceased his process of Death Egg creation, it is unlikely that any of this form currently exist.
Death egg level 3 Three The third stage of Death Egg evolution. Death Eggs normally enter Stage Three after about six months to two years. By this time, their head has split into two equal-sized heads, though only one mind exists between them, which is in fact spread across the entire central body. As Matata ceased his process of Death Egg creation, it is unlikely that any of this form currently exist.
Death egg level 4 Four The final stage of Death Egg evolution. Death Eggs normally enter Stage Four after a minimum of seven years; some do not reach Stage Five at all. By this time, a new head has budded off of the body, and the Death Egg has reached the peak of its power. This is the only form of Death Egg that remains.

Trivia[]

  • It was named the "Death Egg" because the first-stage form can look like an egg when folded.
  • It has been hinted that Death Eggs are related somehow to the Hordika Magna.
