Decronox is Shadow Matoran, formerly known as Leath. He fought with the Toa Malia and, after his corruption, served the Brotherhood of Makuta. He is currently a Bounty Hunter in the Lost Continents.

Biography[]

Early life[]

1000 years before the Great Cataclysm War, Leath was created by Mata Nui as a Le-Matoran. He did maintenance on the Great Spirit Robot. As a Le-Matoran, he used his limited elemental powers to purify the air inside the Great Spirit Robot.

War with Abaddon[]

When Abaddon declared war on Mata Nui, Leath fought along side Tomoe against an army of Skakdi. He admired Tomoe's quick ability to out-smart the Skakdi and inspired to be like him.

Leath lived in Kehidupan with the other Matoran after Abaddon and his armies were defeated.

Enslavement by the Brotherhood[]

During the Brotherhood of Makuta's enslavement of the Matoran, Leath was turned into a Shadow Matoran, having all of his light sucked out of him. He retained no memory of his previous life, serving the Brotherhood of Makuta. He was designated the name "Decronox" by the Makuta.

Decronox was violent towards the Matoran and Turaga of Kehidupan, pushing and shoving them around unnecessarily.

During the Great Cataclysm War, Decronox fought his former Matoran allies, eventually remembering that he was part of the Toa Malia. He fled the battlefield soon after the Brotherhood of Makuta's defeat, heading into the Lost Continents.

Life as a Bounty Hunter[]

With his memory hazy, Decronox sought revenge on the Turaga of Kehidupan, blaming them for his corruption. He stole weapons from Skakdi and became more ruthless, seeking only revenge. Decronox killed Skakdi warlords and left the bodies for the Order of Mata Nui to find, intending to lead them into a trap.

His plan to kill the Skakdi warlords was an idea given to him by the Infernal Legion's Makuta, unbeknownst to Decronox. He is an unwilling ally of the group.

At some point, around 150 years later, Decronox attacks the camp in the Lost Continents after Abaddon's takeover of the universe, allied with the Skakdi warlord Javyz.

Alternate Versions[]

Dark Dimension[]

Leath is one of the six Matoran who are transformed into Toa to replace the Toa Neirae after their defeat and execution by the Brotherhood of Makuta. He is initially sceptical of Kranu's plan to steal the Ignika but ends up sacrificing his life with a Nova Blast to protect Kranu, Fronn and Ronuo.

Personality and traits[]

Decronox was silent as a Le-Matoran, carrying out his duties, as he felt obligated to fulfill them. He was generally expressionless and a dull to be around. He did not enjoy the company of others, preferring to be alone. He admired Toa Tomoe. Decronox studied the traps Tomoe made during the war, utilising his own traps.

Once corrupted, Decronox became more violent and short-tempered. He despised Matoran and Turaga, at first not knowing why. When he remembered that he was once part of the Toa Malia, Decronox swore revenge against his former idol, Tomoe, and Kehidupan. He has no problems killing other Matoran or beings, though finds no enjoyment in the act.

Powers and tools[]

Prior to his corruption, Decronox carried Climbing Claws. He lost the weapons after the Great Cataclysm War, stealing a Claw Hook from a Skakdi warlord. He uses his Hook to attack his opponent's limbs and pulls them down into traps or pitfalls.

Decronox has a small amount of Elemental Shadow power. While in darkness, he can obscure the vision of any being looking directly at him, though the effect is very weak.
