Paranu is a Toa of Water commonly discussed in Ga-Matoran folklore, known for his bearing of the Mask of Wisdom.

The Legends[]

One of the prominent legends surrounding her is a game of riddles against an unknown, intelligent Rahi. Though she only gave one riddle to the beast, she managed to guess all of his questions. The last of them she did without her mask. The Rahi became enraged after she defeated him, and she was forced to slay the beast. She grew remorseful for her action of killing it afterwords, though pondered the circumstances.

Comparisons to Aranu[]

Though many legends treat Paranu as her own separate entity, many chroniclers have questioned whether she was originally Aranu, adapted to fit Ga-Matoran tales better. The question comes from the name and the way she acts, being haughty about her power uncharacteristically of a Toa of Water. Whatever is the case, she remains a favorite mythical character to Matoran.

Abilities and Traits[]

Paranu, wearing the Kanohi Sophica, gets unlimited wisdom, letting her be able to have leadership, fighting skills, and is good at solving and avoiding problems.

Paranu, being a Toa of Water, can also manipulate water for her own advantages, such as in battle. She can also take moisture in the air and use it to make balls or waves of water.

Trivia[]

  • One of the main distinguishing features from her and Aranu is the inclusion of her Mask of Wisdom, something none of the Aranu legends have. That is one of the reasons many Matoran chroniclers suggest keeping them separate.
