I'll just quickly begin by saying that having finished my final exams, I have now returned to active service (not that any of you noticed I was away in the first place :P).
Now, the purpose of this blog is to provide everybody with an update on the state of the social medias, and for us, it's not entirely good news. Not too long ago, SEDTheEditor, who helped run a great number of the social media sites after Jman98 departed, retired from the BIONICLE community as a whole. In his absence, the people behind social medias (specifically Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter and YouTube) have declared these accounts independent. Additionally, Jman98 has also deleted the CBW forum, as you may have already noticed.
Jman's personal feeling on the matter as the creator and cultivator of these accounts is that he would prefer to have capable people he personally knows and trusts in charge of these accounts. Furthermore, since these accounts function for the most part independently from the wiki, he felt it would be best to also sever their connection to this wiki. From this point forward, those accounts are longer representative of CBW.
Whilst this is indeed unfortunate, it is something we can cope with. I've already discussed having those accounts rebranded to differentiate them from us, so as to prevent confusion. It's best if neither side misleads people into believing that these social media accounts and the wiki are still connected.
At this point, there is really nothing to be done about any of this, so there is no purpose in kicking up a fuss or trying to antagonise anybody. This is just something that's happened and we'll move on from it.
The staff's plans with regards to social media from this stage forth are unclear; we have considered possibly creating new accounts on some sites, but we've yet to reach any serious consensus yet. If you guys have any thoughts, please do share below.
