Voxeen refers to a species of cat-like rahi that stalk their prey in the colder regions of Mata Nui. They can differentiate in color, ranging from pure white from Tundra regions, tan in cold deserts, light blue near water and other variations. It is common for Voxeen offspring to be born with mixed colors such as black and white.
The Lo'ziel[]
The Voxeen have long been affiliated with the Lo'ziel race. The Lo'ziel believe that the Voxeen carry within them holy spirits, and when released can have healing and regenerative powers on the living and the dead. They are often hunted by them, and due to the amount of Voxeen killed each year they are harder and harder to find.

A Voxeen can be useful to the Lo'ziel if it is either alive or dead.
- Their tail is made of almost entirely bone, and is very tough. It can be fashioned into spears or other weapons easily.
- Voxeen have incredibly keen eyes, and the Lo'ziel use their eyes to enhance their night vision.
- Voxeen feet are usually one of the hardest things on the body, and they can be easily taken off and used for armor.
- The chief of a Lo'ziel tribe can usually be seen wearing a Voxeen head.
- If tamed (less than six have been), they can serve as watch animals, hunters, or even partners druing battle.
